Hello again.
It's been a while since I've shared any big news about the next update, and with Fragment's 2 year anniversary coming up I thought now would be a good time to show off some stuff coming in 2.1.0.
With 2.1.0, the Mission Playlist receives a large refresh:
New operations
New rewards
Modifiers
Among all the additions and improvements, the biggest change in this update is the introduction of the Featured Operation.
The Featured Operation is a new way to play Mission Playlist, it is a single rotating Operation with randomized modifiers to change up the gameplay challenge, while also offering a way to target farm some of the new weapons releasing in 2.1.0.
The Featured Operation has a rotating featured weapon (From the new weapons added to the Mission Playlist reward pool.) which has a increased drop chance compared to the rest of the loot pool. This means that if you are searching for a specific Mission Playlist weapon (or roll, as these weapons don't have static enchantments), you can wait for the Featured Operation to feature it, and then get it that way.
There is also a bonus objective that grants a bonus score multiplier upon completion. (ex. Complete the operation in under 2 mins / Complete the operation with 0 deaths.)
If you reach the Legendary reward tier in a Operation, any pieces of the Operative armor set that drop will have one of the Epic Tier 3 stat bonuses applied, along with an armor trim for some added flair.
Speaking of flair, aren't you tired of having to decide between functionality and appearance when choosing your armor? Luckily for all of us, the renowned Tavinky Colors™ fashion enterprise has set up shop onboard Delta Station, bringing along with them the new Transmutation System.
Using the Transmutation Modules, you are now able to copy the appearance of one armor piece to another. This is also not limited to only working between 2 items in the same slot, so you can copy to the properties of leggings onto a helmet for example.
There is one notable limitation to this though, it being that Legendary items are completely excluded from the system, they can't be used as a template or the other way around.
This is a feature I've been looking for a way to implement since before Fragment's original release, and am glad I finally get to share it with you all. Now you can fashion as much as you desire.
One of the reasons I've been wanting to implement this is as a solution to the loot chase possibly growing stale. While there are only so many combinations of enchantments I can put on a sword, there is almost an endless amount different armor pieces possible. All this is part of my effort to make sure that no loot is completely worthless, and while there is still work to do on that front, this is at least a good step in the right direction for armor. Now even a common armor piece can be worth getting if you think it looks good enough.
Well, that's all for now.
I've been busy lately, so there is still much work to do, but also a lot more to show. So while I can't say when the next preview will be, I can say it'll likely be about the Destination overhaul. (Mostly Random Encounters, since they've gotten a complete rework.)
See you then.
